What the quote needs to include
Model occupancy by resource and work-order stage. Record authorized waiting without automatically turning scheduled hours into completed labor.

Map jobs that require continuous lift occupancy and those allowing the vehicle to move between stages. Availability changes when parts arrive, customers approve work or diagnosis requires another specialist. The model must represent these dependencies. Dividing total hours by available technicians does not necessarily reflect the actual physical capacity of the workshop.
The quote should explain estimated versus actual duration. Estimates support planning, while time records explain what happened. Mixing them creates apparent precision and makes a revised customer promise harder to justify. Evaluate integration with the existing schedule before replacing the entire service tool, especially when that tool already contains approved booking rules.

The exception that determines acceptance
A vehicle stays on a lift awaiting parts while another job is booked. Reporting must reveal the conflict even when a technician is free.
Include refused authorization, early parts arrival and transfer between lifts. Reporting should reflect the released resource without duplicating occupancy. Request a pending-issues view so managers can act on specific blockers. That queue often provides more daily value than an average productivity figure without context, particularly when blocked jobs occupy scarce equipment for long periods.
