Reading a barcode does not guarantee a correct count. An inventory application needs to list code, unit, location and checking rule before updating the official balance.
How to evaluate this decision
Map alternative codes, packaging and items without legible labels. Differentiate between counting, adjustment and stock movement: they are different events. The integration must respect the inventory cutoff moment and handle movements that occurred during the count. If there is a reconference, record the divergence without invisibly replacing the first evidence.
