Packing lists may repeat headers or continue one package on another page. Extracting tables independently can duplicate packages, lose rows or associate products with the wrong volume.
The design to commission
Define relationships among documents, packages, rows and declared quantities. Extraction must identify continuation without assuming every page begins a new package. Retain package identifiers and units while distinguishing item counts from package counts. Keep original documents inspectable beside proposed results. Before using AI, check structured supplier files; direct integration may eliminate PDF ambiguity. Visual or language assistance becomes useful when layouts vary and manual review remains necessary. Require handling for missing pages, inconsistent totals and notes below table rows. The tool can organize inspection but does not confirm physical contents or provide customs guidance. Owners should review uncertain associations before import into operating systems. Ask whether a human correction updates the proposed association without deleting the original extracted text, preserving evidence for later questions about what the supplier document actually stated.

- Retain quantities with units and row references.
- Handle continuation and repeated headers without duplicating contents.
Acceptance with an exception
For hypothetical acceptance, one package starts on the first page and continues on the next with a repeated header. Output should retain one package, all items and references to both pages.
